2014 marks the 170th anniversary of the Rochdale Equitable Pioneers Society. To celebrate this special anniversary the Pioneers 170 blog will guide you through the Pioneers’ first year.
The Pioneers decide to purchase Joshua Hague’s earthenware stock that they have deliberated about for weeks. They will pay £3 2s for it, and the rest of the money owing is to be given as subscriptions to his account.
James Smithies is to purchase a treacle can, and Jesse Hall’s bill of eleven shillings and four pence for the check book will be paid.
