The Rochdale Pioneers Museum has been recognised as a top-performing attraction as reviewed by travellers on the world-wide Tripadvisor site.
The Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence is now in its fifth year and celebrates excellence in hospitality. It is given only to establishments that consistently achieve great reviews on TripAdvisor, indicating that they have continually delivered a superior customer experience.
Winners are selected using an algorithm to determine that takes into account the quality, quantity and recency of reviews and opinions submitted by travellers on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period as well as the attraction’s tenure and ranking on the Popularity Index on the site. To qualify, an establishment must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.
Museum Manager Jenny Mabbott commented: “I am delighted our hard work to offer a consistently warm welcome as well as high quality events and exhibitions has paid. Thank you to all the staff and volunteers who have made this possible.”
Simon Parkinson, Chief Exeuctive of the Co-operative College, which manages the Museum, gave his thanks for the “great work” of the Museum’s team of staff and volunteers. Gillian Lonergan, Head of Heritage Resources at the College, added: “Congratulations! Well done to all concerned, a great achievement.”
The most recent Tripadvisor review was left by a reviewer Helenchaddy who stated:
“A lovely day out. The staff are great at explaining the inspirational story of the first co-op in Rochdale. It was amazing to see what conditions the workers in the early years of the industrial revolution had to put up with – chalk in the flour…. and worse. Truly inspirational visit. There is also a great World War I exhibit at the moment.”
If you’d like to visit the Rochdale Pioneers Museum it is open Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 5pm and admission is free.
