2014 marks the 170th anniversary of the Rochdale Equitable Pioneers Society.  To celebrate this special anniversary the Pioneers 170 blog will guide you through the Pioneers’ first year.

14b3This week, John Holt is sent on an errand to Manchester. The details are unrecorded – the reason for his trip is unknown, but he is granted five shillings in connection with the visit.

It is also decided at this meeting that everyone who has paid in their full shares is now allowed to draw their dividend, or “divi”.
